IUPUI is bringing imaging technology education to you and making advancement and credentialing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) a goal that you can complete on your time and onyour schedule.
Through online education and the ever evolving instructional technology available, we are now able to reach radiologic technologists all across the nation and bring them the highest quality education to advance their career and expand their modality knowledge base.
"Instructional technology does not seek to beat the traditional academic system but rather change the system entirely."
- Dr. Michael Molenda, IU Instructional Systems Technology Associate Professor Emeritus
With the revolutionary online curriculumand instructional technology techniques developed by renowned leaders in the field of radiologic technology, you can rest assured that the quality of your structured education will place you among the top level credentialed technologists in the field of MRI.
Top 10 Reasons Technologists should seek Advanced Degrees & Advanced Credentialing
10. Community -Give Back! Your degrees and credentialing allows you to give back to the community educating them on the medical imaging field. This allows you the unique chance to show young and impressionable minds all the positives of a college education and help your patients and their communities to cope in difficult medical situations. 9. Values & Ethics -Increase Patient Care! Advanced education and degrees demonstrate a professional set of values that lets employers and patients know that you are qualified and you support high standards of patient care. 8. Financial Reward - Earn what you Deserve! Your value will be recognizable to your facility. Your value will be worth a greater investment from your organization. 7. Institutional Contributions -Make Positive Change! Be able to work alongside top organization administration and demonstrate cost savings methods along with revenue producing ideas. 6. Role Modeling -Start Something Positive! Be a leader in your department and show others the possibilities and their potential. You will be looked up to as a solid role model and others will take notice. 5. Personal Growth -Push your Boundaries! Challenges and successes are met with a greater sense of pride, accomplishment, drive, determination, persistence and satisfaction. These qualities blend right in with that of the role model. 4. Life-long Learning - Stay up to Date! Learning shouldn’t stop once a job is obtained. Changes in healthcare and advanced imaging techniques almost makes it a necessity for imaging personnel to pursue education in order to stay current in imaging technology. 3. Future Careers -Be Prepared for Emerging Opportunities! An advanced degree demonstrates your determination and intellectual abilities. It is solid evidence of your knowledge. It makes you a better-rounded individual that has excellent potential to move up the career ladder and be an asset to the organization. 2. Job Opportunities - Let them look for YOU! All organizations will be in need of the advance credentialed techs so that their organization will receive maximum insurance reimbursement dollars. Your credentialing helps keep you employed AND helps your organization receive higher reimbursements. 1.Secure Employment- Don't get Terminated! High Demand = Secure Employment You don’t want to be terminated from a great position simply because you do not carry advanced credentialing in MRI. Your organization will receive less reimbursement from Medicare & Medicaid for MRI exams that are performed by a technologist that does not carry the advanced credential of RT(R)(MR). Less reimbursement = less money for full-time employees = less staff needed. Don’t be the one cut loose from the organization!

Harnessing the power of Human Performance Technology (HPT)
HPT is a systematic approach to improving productivity and competence using a set of methods and procedures, and a strategy for solving problems; for realizing opportunities related to the performance of people. (International Society for Performance Improvement)
HPT has been used by our curriculum developers to focus on the learners and design structured education that will provide depth and breadth of imaging concepts in magnetic resonance imaging. HPT has allowed us to journey through three important steps in identifying ideal learning optimizations for radiologic technologists.
1. Performance Analysis - In this phase, performance analysis was conducted on technologists of varying skill levels, varying years of experience, and various training histories who were all working within the MRI modality. Their skills and performance were monitored and documented so that we could verify educational disparities and identify the specific gaps where technologists would benefit most from continuing education and detailed instruction.
2. Cause Analysis - In this phase, the source of these performance gaps was carefully evaluated. Many potential causes for the gap were explored and many potential solutions to close the gap were pursued.
3. Intervention Selection - In this phase, our dedicated team of instructional designers focused efforts on creating curriculum that could overcome the common skill and performance gaps identified and provide learners with a deeper education that highlights those relevant obstacles currently faced while working in this modality. By creating curriculum that champions these gaps, learners from all the various backgrounds benefit and advance, moving closer to mastery.
The singular goal of this online educational program is to Improve Performance in the future MRI credentialed technologists by harnessing the human performance technology presently available and applying it to the obstacles that have plagued radiologic technologists and their educational opportunities in the past.
Together we can make a better experience for ourselves, our patients, and the future of the imaging sciences.
